Roof Damage Caused By Hurricanes

As the hurricane season is getting ready to ramp up in Mississippi, here are a few things to look out for on your roof if your home ends up in the path of destruction!  As everyone knows, hurricanes rip through coastal areas with no remorse, causing a great deal of damage to homes and buildings that are directly in their path.

For the homes and buildings that do not end up as a total loss, it is almost inevitable that roof damage will be sustained in the storm!  In this case, for some home owners you will immediately be able to tell if your roof has storm damage if you see shingles completely missing from your roof!  It is very important to have a roofing contractor come out immediately to temporarily water proof the spots of your roof that are missing shingles to avoid any further water damage to the inside of your home while they work with your insurance to get your roof replaced!

As for other home owners, it will be a bit more difficult to recognize storm damage, this could be shingles that were blown up during the heavy winds allowing rain and debris underneath the shingles that without proper inspection and repair could cause your roof to leak every time it rains!  It is important that you call a roofing contractor to inspect your roof if this is your case as your roof could appear to have no damage to the un trained eye!

Be sure to choose a contractor that is experienced in dealing with insurance claims and focused on putting your best interest first to ensure that your roof is taken care of properly, you are compensated correctly, and you are able to create a long lasting relationship for years to come with them!  Make your choice  Akurate Roofing Group LLC!
